Our Core Beliefs
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be complete and true, the actual word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and is the final authority of our Christian faith.
God
We believe in one God, Creator of everything, perfect, infinite, and eternal. He exists in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus
We believe in Jesus, the Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. In obedience to God’s plan,
he died on the cross and paid for our sins. He bodily rose and is now in heaven with God the Father as our advocate.
He will personally return in great glory.
Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the distinct third Person of the Trinity, who lives in all believers.
He reveals Jesus to man, convicts us of sin, leads us to repentance, and empowers us for godly living.
Humankind
We believe that God created humankind in His image for the purpose of glorifying God.
Because of sin, all people are separated from God, and are in need of salvation, which is freely given to us and received by faith in Jesus.
Our Response to What God Has Done
In accepting God’s gift of salvation we begin a new relationship with Him and depend on Him.
God’s desire is that we “’Love the Lord your God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our strength and with all our mind,” and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27). We believe that God’s purpose in calling us to this ministry is to care for the physical needs of others, giving us the opportunity to tell people about Jesus.
It is through God in us that we are enabled to Love In the Name of Christ.
Our Guiding Principles
These principles are intended to provide a solid foundation for building on,
and to provide a reference of core values to guide and direct decisions,
planning, and actions by LOVE In the Name of Christ.
LOVE I.N.C. Belongs to God
The ministry of LOVE In the Name of Christ is an offering to God to glorify His name; it is held with an open hand to be used for His work in our community.
“For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things and in Him all things hold together” (Col. 1:16,17)
LOVE I.N.C. is Dependent on Prayer
As a ministry belonging to God, LOVE In the Name of Christ is a prayer dependent ministry.
It is the ministry’s calling to actively pray, seeking God’s guidance and blessing, and to lift up the needs of the community and people it seeks to help.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6,7)
LOVE I.N.C. is Committed to discipleship and evangelism
LOVE In the Name of Christ will actively seek, encourage, and take opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ, and express God’s desire for all people to believe in Him and receive Him in their heart for eternal salvation. LOVE In the Name of Christ will make every effort to connect the people God brings to the ministry with a local church.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matt. 28: 19,20)
LOVE I.N.C. Upholds the Dignity and worth of every person
LOVE In the Name of Christ upholds and respects the dignity and inherent worth of every person as uniquely created in the image of God. LOVE In the Name of Christ is dedicated to the compassionate and respectful service to people in need.
“So God created humankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” (Gen 1:27)
LOVE I.N.C. is committed to promoting Christian unity
LOVE In the Name of Christ encourages unity among Christian churches and embraces denominational diversity.
“By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ I appeal to all of you, my brothers, to agree in what you say, so that there will be no divisions among you. Be completely united, with only one thought and one purpose.” (1 Cor. 1:10)
LOVE I.N.C. is dedicated to Excellence
The ministry of LOVE In the Name of Christ is an offering to God; He is worthy of our best efforts.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men” (Col. 3:23)
